Nerds of the Water

In working out ideas for "Forever 16", I've revised a lot of my concepts over the years, but my introductory story for Abby has always had one scene remain pretty much unchanged. Cutting through the pool area after gym class, she gets hassled by a few of the bullying popular girls who decide to conduct their own little physics experiment - "determining whether or not geeks float". And unfortunately for Abby, the answer is no, they don't...at least not when they've got 20 pounds of textbooks slung over their backs. Who'll come to rescue her? Oh, you'll find out soon enough...
