I found another old drawing in my archives that I thought deserved a little ink and color! It's a follow-up to this piece [link] that I drew for a buddy of mine, a bit of Simpsons fan art featuring one of his favorite characters, Jesse Grass from the Season 12 episode "Lisa the Tree Hugger".

A while after I finished that one, I found this video [link] depicting members of Greenpeace staging an underwater protest against global warming and whatnot. Now, I'm all for saving the planet and stuff, but this particular protest struck me as kind of goofy - almost like a Simpsons-esque parody. Jesse already pocket-mulches, won't eat anything that casts a shadow, and believes he'll have superpowers someday, so this seemed like it'd fit him well.

I remember how he'd never eat anything with a shadow. When I first heard that I wondered how that'd be possible, but I wrote it off ass typical Simpsons absurdity.

It can't cast a shadow if it's already underground. Like a potato. Or is, y'know, some kind of creeping wall-mould behind the refrigerator.

But potatoes cast shadows once it's pulled into an area of light, which will have to happen when it's being eaten.
That's what I thought he meant.
