This started out as just a simple drawing of Meg doing a little amateur underwater modeling. But then, based on the photo I used for reference [link] , I turned it into an exercise in lighting and shading, and I ended up producing what I think are some of the best underwater light refractions I've ever done. Combined with the ultra-cute way I drew Meg, I'm really proud of how this one turned out! :D

I agree! The lighting and reflections from the surface are some of the best I've seen you do. And Meg really looks at home in the water. It's a pleasure to see you draw Meg again.:)

Thanks! I figured Meg would probably really enjoy underwater modeling, since it's been established that she can hold her breath underwater for a very long time. :D

I lost interest in Family Guy years ago(Too many jokes that went nowhere), but I like your take on Seth McFarlane's characters. The water effects are great too.

The underwater setting is very interesting and original. However, wouldn't this aquatic scene be more appropriate with Meg in a swimsuit instead of fully clothed? Just wondering. Very good portrait of Meg, incidentally.

The biggest influence on my underwater work is a guy named Rusty Pietrzak, who used to run a fashion photography service in the '80s and '90s called Ark Underwater Fashion. That photo I linked to in the artist's comments, that's one of his. All his models posed underwater fully clothed, often with props and full backdrops, and I'd never seen anything like that before, so it really stayed with me.

Here's some more examples of his work: [link] [link] [link]

I love it when you draw Meg. You treat her more human than what Seth and his writers do. More loving.
